Bill McLaurine

Bill serves as a non-parent coach with the club. He has over 22 years of experience working with players from pre-K through U18. Presently, his primary focus is U8 through 8th grade players. Bill’s goal is to train players to play an attractive, possession style of soccer which ultimately develops better players and is a more enjoyable game to play and watch. Former players have received All-State, St. Louis District, Southeast District, All-Conference and All-Tournament Honors as well as Team MVP, Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP, and Newcomer of the Year Awards.

Bill is a member of United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as NSCAA-National Soccer Coaches Association of America). He’s earned his National D, E and F Licenses as well as each of US Soccer Grassroots 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 licenses. Bill has also completed the Coerver Youth Diploma I program conducted by Coerver Coaching co-founder & Chelsea great Charlie Cooke. Always looking for ways to help his players, he has also had the opportunity to attend a number of other coaching programs over the years: multiple Tom Howe coaching clinics while he served as Director of Coaching at Scott Gallagher SC & Sporting STL, Sporting KC Affiliate Coaching Clinic (3 days of classroom & field sessions with Sporting KC Academy staff), AC Porta Via English FA Coaching Clinic (conducted by English FA coaches), Dutch Touch United International Coaching Symposium (3 days of classroom & field sessions with coaches from Ajax, NEC, FC Utrecht, PSV, Ajax Cape Town), Dutch Touch Coaching Clinic (8wk program by Terry Michler), Dutch Touch Coaches Shed (8wk program for experienced coaches), and Tony Glavin Coaches Clinic.

Bill’s experience with independent, smaller, and larger clubs, having managed a group that played and traveled at the regional and national level as well as having gone full cycle with two children of his own, gives him a well-rounded perspective and background when dealing with today’s parents, players, and teams
